| Gerard Houarner fell to Earth in 1955 and is a product
of the NYC school system. Contrary to popular opinion,
he spends only his daylight hours in a psychiatric institution
in the Bronx. Working. A night he resides with an assortment
of books, comics, action figures, videos, music, a poet,
and other curiosities essential to the creative gumbo
of his fiction.
He serves as fiction editor for Space and Time magazine.
Space and Time the publisher also produced his short
story chapbook, Dead Cat Bounce, A Fable to Horrify
the Inner Child, illustrated by GAK, and a Stoker award
finalist. This character inspired a minor cottage industry
of books: Dead Cats Bouncing; Dead Cat...Bigger Than
Jesus; and the upcoming Dead Cat's Traveling Circus
of Wonders and Miracle Medicine Show. Some of his two-hundred
plus short stories have been gathered in: Painfreak,
an erotic horror collection; I Love You And There Is
Nothing You Can Do About It, a horror collection, Black
Orchids From Aum, dark fantasies set in a very odd and
dangerous city; and Visions Through A Shattered Lens,
my most recent work. Novels include The Bard of Sorcery,
a fantasy put out by Del Rey in the 80's; and more recently
The Beast That Was Max and Road To Hell, from Leisure.
